Promotion Committee

Primary Areas of Focus:

  • Assessment and Planning – Identify and develop local targeted market segments, evaluate current promotional program, and create comprehensive annual budget and calendar of promotions
  • Image Development – Slogans, graphics, jingles, banners…anything to promote the image of the downtown in a positive manner
  • Special Events – Create and implement heritage festivals, holiday celebrations, farmer’s markets, and other traffic generating events
  • Retail – Identify and promote sales events, seasonal promotions and cross merchandising promotions to enhance sales revenues in the downtown
  • Tourism  – Working with the local convention and tourism bureau, create downtown walking tours, motor coach tours, special events and heritage tourism
  • Measure Promotional Success – Review and rate the success of annual events through dollars generated, traffic counts at events and improvement of downtown identity
