Quarterly Coffee & Conversation

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Quarterly Coffee & Conversations have been postponed until further notice.

Merchants and property owners within the Main Street Keokuk, Inc. District are invited to participate in an open discussion between the City, MSKI, Keokuk Area Chamber of Commerce representatives and each other over coffee each quarter on the 4th Wednesday of the month at 8:00 a.m. at a located TBD.

“The quarterly coffees provide a forum for merchants and property owners to discuss issues and concerns and work together on solutions,” according to MKSI executive director, Joyce Glasscock.  “Topics for discussion are suggested by the business men and women in attendance.”

City representatives such as the City of Keokuk Mayor, Community Development Director, Public Works Director, Code Enforcement Officer, Police Chief, and others participate in the coffees as their schedules allow.

“The Mayor, and city staff, bring a wealth of information to the table.  Meeting over coffee in a relaxed, friendly and open forum, we find, is a great way for people with the same goals – a clean, inviting, district where businesses can succeed and where developers want to invest – can come together in an open exchange,” explained Glasscock.

At the coffees, Glasscock and the Keokuk Area Chamber of Commerce executive director, Shelley Oltmans, provide information about their organizations’ events, activities and programs of work.

“While the coffee is geared toward merchants and property owners within the MSKI District, it is open to all KACC and MSKI members and investors,” said Oltmans.
